    hey, I’m Kayla

    I love seeing you succeed!

Food blogging as a business can leave you feeling so lost and alone sometimes. After starting Broken Oven Baking in 2020 I quickly transitioned to full-time creator! It’s come with many ups and downs, but the greatest peaks are always seeing the positive impact my services and resources have made in fellow bloggers’ lives!

This one habit is a huge reason I’ve grown so much This one habit is a huge reason I’ve grown so much over the past 6 years:
If something isn’t working for me, I don’t accept it…I change the conditions until it does.
This one made my day! 🤗 Davia (@ravencakesbakery) This one made my day! 🤗

Davia (@ravencakesbakery) joined our group fairly early in her blogging journey & said it was one of the best investments she’s made!

She’s a very experienced baker who does markets & hosts classes, but she knew there was opportunity in sharing her recipes online. She dug into our resources, made decisions (like switching her theme) to build her site intentionally, & had support from us the whole way through ❤️

That’s exactly what we want our community to be: kind, open, & genuinely helpful, with no question too small!

Thanks so much for trusting in us & being a part of of our community, Davia!
Most bloggers spend too much time chasing new thin Most bloggers spend too much time chasing new things & not enough doubling down on what’s already working. This framework fixes that!

The 70/20/10 rule we teach in our group coaching program looks like…

70% of your time goes to doing more of what’s currently working.
20% goes to optimizing & refining what’s working.
10% goes to experiments & brand new ideas.

It works at the big-picture level (your whole blog strategy) & the small level (a single channel). Instagram, for example: if your recipe videos with music are doing well, the bulk of your effort should go to making more of them. Your 20% might be testing a voiceover or adding on-screen recipe text. Your 10% is the wildcard…a trend, a monthly personal recap, a local restaurant you tried.

The mistake a lot of people make is flipping the ratio, getting distracted by shiny objects and spending the majority of their time on unproven experiments (& neglecting the stuff that’s actually growing their blog).

Save this one for your next planning session!

What’s working for you right now that you could be doing more of? Share it in the comments to help yourself & fellow food bloggers! 💬
I’ve been following Ella (@alpineella) for years, I’ve been following Ella (@alpineella) for years, and it was so fun getting to sit down and chat with her about her food blogging journey!

During our call, Ella shares the habit she’s built this year that’s made her go from feeling behind & negative to calm & confident…even while the industry panics about Google and AI.

She also opens up about her feelings of isolation & comparison and what’s helped her overcome them! There are so many great takeaways from our chat, and I just appreciate how real and expressive Ella is 🤗

I’ll be sharing our full discussion with my Blogging Bites email subscribers next week, so make sure you’re on the list!
